Since I’ve joined Netvvrk I’ve sold $6000 in art work. I’ve had some years where I sold none. So, that’s felt really good.

Netvvrk encouraged me to reconnect with people I already know who are making great work. I’m building on what I’ve already done in my career.

I can directly point to two solo shows, a residency and the most important group show I’ve been a part of that have come as a result of the things I’ve learned on Netvvrk. That’s not to say it wasn’t the work - that’s always the most important thing, but the process doesn’t feel so hard now.

The most important thing to me is making work. But I didn’t care about getting shows. When I moved out of LA, I thought I could have done more. I wanted grants and residencies and it’s had to meet people at openings and get administrative support. Netvvrk connected me with those opportunities and helped me get them.

I joined Netvvrk for the community. With Netvvrk there’s so much emotional support. There’s always someone to catch me if I fall.

When you have a lot of irons in the fire, you don’t go crazy over individual applications or connections. As you get older there’s an importance of being humble and self-critical and most artists I know are a mix. But you can get to a certain stage in your career where its hard to stay vulnerable. It sounds really simple, but with Netvvrk, I just keep come back to the goal setting so I can stay focused and do the work. That’s paying off.

I joined several collectives inside Netvvrk and met artists I wouldn’t have met otherwise, and that’s been great. I’ve redone my website. There’s so much I’m receiving from Netvvrk. Before Netvvrk I’d never applied for a grant. I worked on the application for the award with other members, and got feedback. I’ve applied for my first grant and two artist awards. I sold a large piece of art, with the help of my accountability group.

The diversity inside Netvvrk is great. You facilitate access to people who would be really hard to find on your own. Members post open calls, reading, inspiration, that beefs up what the membership is already providing which is great. If I need feedback last minute on an opportunity, I can get that on Netvvrk. It feels like I have connect with a bunch of colleagues who have read the memo. You get a lot of return for the investment.

Netvvrk is about becoming your best self and supporting each other.

I was installing a large project and I needed advice on turn buckles — and so many members had expertise on this! I got a lot of support through artist advisor William Powhida who encouraged me to think about lighting, film, and helped me see the next stage for the work, including professional photography. Everyone supported me in that process, and I understood why I needed to make investments.
